This is a very interesting 10 minute mini-documentary about transportation in Metro Vancouver. There is even a bit on the Interurban.

A blog on transportation, urban planning, environment, and other issues that affect the livability of the South of Fraser region in Southern BC, the Pacific Northwest, and the rest of the world (sometimes.)

Check on the South Fraser Blog document archive. You can download maps, reports, and more relating to transportation and urban planning with a focus on Southern BC. There is also a slew of historical information about the Interurban rail line and the Roberts Bank Corridor.

He left out my best line... "Four billion for bridges, and fourteen billion for transit: that seems like a reasonable balance to me."
It's a good sound bite. Too bad the communities South of the Fraser will only see $1.1 billion on a 6km SkyTrain extension to Fleetwoord, and get to share $1.2 billion in bus money with the rest of the province. All by 2020. Meanwhile, the Port Mann bridge will be under major construction during the Olympic Games... so much for reasonable balance. :-)
Hopefully we can talk 'em out of SkyTrain and into light rail... $1.2 billion will go quite a way!
yep, it would cover light rail on the Interurban ROW, King George Highway/104th, and there would be money left over for things like streetcars..
